Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions
Is Qurantify free to use?
The full Quran reader — all 114 surahs, 6,236 verses, 604 pages — is completely free to download and use with no time limit. Advanced features including audio recitation, memorisation mode, prayer times, Qibla, 25 translations, offline downloads, bookmarks, and iCloud sync are available with an optional Premium subscription (£19.99/year or £34.99 lifetime). The Quran text itself will never be behind a paywall.
Does the app work offline?
Almost all of it does. The Quran text, translations, search, bookmarks, memorisation and your reading position are stored on your device and need no connection at all. Prayer times and the Qibla compass are calculated on-device from your location and your phone's built-in sensors, so they keep working offline too. The only feature that needs the internet is streaming audio recitation — and Premium users can download surahs in advance to listen entirely offline.
Why is the audio not playing?
Streaming a recitation needs an active internet connection, so first check that you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you have already downloaded the surah for offline listening it should play without a connection — in that case, check the download finished and that the reciter currently selected is the same one you downloaded, since downloads are stored per reciter. Also make sure your device is not in silent mode. If the problem persists, close and reopen the app.
How do I change the reciter?
On any surah page, the audio player bar at the bottom of the screen includes a reciter dropdown. Tap it to see all available reciters and select your preference. Your choice is saved automatically for future sessions.
How do I turn on Tajweed colours?
Tajweed colouring is a Premium feature. With Premium active, open any surah and turn Tajweed on from the reading options — the rules of recitation (ghunnah, ikhfa, idgham, iqlab, qalqalah and madd) are then colour-coded directly in the text across the entire mushaf. A built-in guide explains every rule and the colour that marks it, and you can switch the colouring off again at any time for a plain page.
What is the Qaida and who is it for?
The Qaida is a complete interactive course for learning to read Arabic from the very beginning — ideal if you are just starting out, or teaching your children. Seven guided lessons take you through the alphabet, joined letters, tanween, sukoon, shaddah and the madd letters, each with drills to practise the shapes and sounds. It is included with Premium.
Why are my prayer times incorrect?
Prayer times are calculated based on your device's location. Please ensure location permissions are granted to Qurantify in your device Settings. If times still seem off, try the app Settings to select a different calculation method (e.g. MWL, ISNA) appropriate for your region.
How do I enable prayer time notifications?
Go to the Prayer Times screen in the app and tap the notification bell icon next to each prayer to toggle reminders on or off. Make sure you have granted Qurantify notification permissions — on iOS go to Settings → Qurantify → Notifications and enable Allow Notifications. On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Qurantify → Notifications.
The Qibla compass is pointing the wrong way — why?
The Qibla compass uses your phone's magnetometer sensor. For best accuracy, calibrate it by moving your phone in a figure-8 motion. Keep the phone away from metal objects, speakers, and other magnetic items that can interfere with the sensor reading.
How do I reset my reading progress?
Your reading progress and bookmarks are stored locally on your device. To clear them, go to your device Settings → Qurantify → and clear the app's stored data. Note this will remove all bookmarks and reading history permanently.
How do I request a new feature?
We love hearing from our users. Please email your feature request to support@qurantify.com with a clear description of what you'd like to see added. We read every message and use this feedback to prioritise our roadmap.
How do I restore my Premium purchase on a new device?
Open the app on your new device, tap the crown icon (⭐) to open the paywall, then tap "Restore Purchases." Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google account and will be restored at no charge. Make sure you are signed in to the same account you used to make the original purchase.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
On iOS: go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Qurantify → Cancel Subscription. On Android: open the Google Play app → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Qurantify → Cancel. Your premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling through the app settings does not work — it must be done through Apple or Google directly.
Does iCloud sync work on Android?
iCloud sync is currently available on iOS only (iPhone and iPad). On Android, your reading position, bookmarks, and highlights are saved locally on your device and will persist as long as the app is installed. They do not sync to other devices on Android at this time.
